Can I use an old virgin mobile phone as a replacement for my sprint phone?

My screen on my rumor is no longer working and I just so happen to have a Kyocera phone from virgin mobile and I was wondering could I use that. I thought since virgin mobile and sprint uses the same network for services...it could be possible.|||Yes Virgin uses the Sprint network, but you cannot activate a Virgin phone on a Sprint plan, or vice-versa|||most likely not
