Is it possible that a mobile phone is another kind of addiction?

Well, many don't even realize how much they are depending on a mobile phone.

Some they stand up in the morning and the first thing what they do is to call somebody.

Some they just ignore all warnings and just talk on the phone in the car.

Many, especially women are going around with the phone all the time on their ear, crossing the road blind, entering the bus and drive 10 stations and still they talk.

Is this another kind of drug?

Let鈥檚 see what we can come up with.|||Yes its becoming a massive addiction for a lot of people, last night we saw a couple walking through town, holding hands and texting on their phones with their free hands, how sad is that, who wants to go on a date with a texting addict, I thought you were supposed to go out to get to know one another, you see little kids out on the streets with their phone either stuck to their ears or their walking, head down, texting away and not loOKing were they are going, god forbid one of them gets run over by not concentrating, my niece comes to our house for her tea every Thursday and spends more time texting on her phone and answering the damn thing than she does talking to us or watching her child, that job seems to be down to us when she appears, I have asked her would she mind turning her phone off while were eating and her attitude is, but I might miss a fun text or call, how sad their life's must be if they don't know how to have a decent conversation, in April this year we were on holiday in Cuba and a lot of people's mobile phones wouldn't work out there, you should have seen them, it was like they had lost a best mate or something, even when they are supposed to be away relaxing they have to have their mobile with them, please, ok yes I do have a mobile phone myself, its for emergency only and I only use it for that reason, I prefer to talk to people, please don't let the art of conversation die.|||Thanks for the points and you sound a lovely family, just top up phones that have to last with 拢10 per month, us too, carry on been as lovely as you are.

"Used" to being the operative word, so be careful out there, your physical, mental and social health (amongst others) are affected.|||I agree but you're misinformed if you think it's just women-I see mostly men driving in cars with a phone super-glued to their ears. And yes it is a huge problem it'll get worse as technology gets better.|||Yes, people -especially women- are addicted to the damn thing. It's crazy, and who knows if this will pass with time as people get used to it?|||all urban addictions are about the lost of the "human dimension" for living in a big city.

those elements that interacts with the communication skills are so evident as addictive factors in the urban life.|||i agree. its not just adults some kids as young as 8 or 9 have them. If you live in the USA and get abc news turn it on the're talking about addictions to cell phones in a few minuetes (on world news tonite)|||I think it is a type of addiction because alot of people think that they cant live without a mobile phone even though people did without them before mobile phones were invented. I'm not dogging women but it is a fact of life that women are addicted to them more than men. Every other car i see a women in they are on the phone talking about nothing that cannot wait. some people have it really bad when they have to buy a new phone everytime something new comes out.
