Is it dangerous to speak on a mobile phone while refuelling petrol tank?

Is it dangerous to speak on a mobile phone while refueling petrol tank|||I don't think it is myself because I have done it a number of time and nothing has hapened. They also tell you to turn off your motor but I never do that eith so I don't see how it could be a problem.|||I would have to say yes.|||Yes, it's very dangerous to fill up while using any electrical device, just because Justin1j hasn't blown himself and the fuel station up means nothing, he probably uses his phone while driving as well, because he hasn't killed anyone yet..|||I think they DISproved this one on Myth busters (see the source - blog at the end)

I have also talked on the phone and left the car running ...

I THINK the biggest problem - is women - who get back in the car (probably on the cell phone) in the car in the winter - creating static.

This static causes the spark - which is why the pumps usually instruct you to touch something metal (to discharge the static electricity) if you have entered the car - before you touch the active nozzle.

I hate all the static shocks getting in and out of the car during the winter!

wonder what causes this?
